I’m back with another Fab Fit Fun box, this time for summer 2018! I think I can safely say, everyone’s been a sweaty mess this summer. Heat wave after heat wave has been hitting everyone in Canada, the US and the UK. Global warming isn’t a joke! But this box has helped me keep my cool this summer. Out of all the Fab Fit Fun Boxes I’ve had over the past year, this one has been my favourite, which is surprising because summer is my least favourite season! The Stand-Out Items
I had a few stand-out favourites from this box that I now use on a regular basis. The top product for me is the Foreo Luna Fofo. I’m a sucker for skincare and anything that can help me cleanse better, is very welcome!
Foreo Luna Fofo
The Foreo Luna Fofo is an exclusive launch. It’s a silicone, vibrating face cleansing device with skin sensors that can detect your hydration levels and “skin age” within the Foreo App. Initially, you set up the device via bluetooth to a smartphone and open the app. You take a skin care quiz, then use the sensors as directed by the app, to measure skin hydration levels.
Once the Fofo analyzes your skin, it starts a vibrating cleansing routine with your chosen face cleanser (FYI: don’t use clay cleansers because it can ruin the silicone bits). The cleanse happens for a minute, leaving a small lather on your face, and akes your skin feel incredible your cleanser is washed off.
Coola Face Sport SPF 50
On the skincare front, I also really enjoyed the Coola Face Sport SPF 50 White Tea Moisturizer. It’s animal cruelty free (yay!) and has a great amount of SPF without making your skin feel like a pool of grease. I love throwing this on every day with a bit of my Essence Mascara.
Orlando Pita Play Atmos-Sheild Protectant Treatment Spray
I usually skip adding hair protectants into my haircare routine, but I’ve now seen the light. Using a protectant spray from heat and environmental damage makes my hair feel significantly nicer at the end of a day. It’s a small step in my morning routine–a few spritzes here and there–but is totally worth it before picking up the hairdryer, doing a quick dry and walking out the door.
Pier 1 Imports Marble Ring Dish
This product is maybe the most simple thing, but I absolutely love it. I use the ring dish as a little catch-all for my everyday items (like jewelry) and special things I don’t want to lose (like my memory card). It’s so cute and small on my dresser, and who doesn’t love the marble texture?!
Yumi Kim Makeup Train Case
For anyone that goes away on weekends or needs some extra storage space on vacations, this Yumi Kim Makeup Train Case is everything you need! A few years ago, I bought a train case from Walmart that I thought was incredible for the price (under $10) but, it’s not a well organized case. Zero compartments other than the main area.
So when I received the Yumi Kim Makeup Train Case, it was a game changer. There are pockets, zips and holders for everything you need to store in a makeup and skincare case. I can find my items so much easier now with this case.
The Rest Of the FabFitFun Box Items
Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel
I thought I was going to use this product a lot more, but I find these de-stressing gels to be a bit of a hoax. In comparison to the other two products I could have chosen from, the de-stressing gel seemed to make the most sense because I struggle with anxiety and depression (read about that here). Do I love it? Not yet, but maybe if I keep an open mind, I will.
Tarte Tarteist Highlight & Contour Palette
I really wanted to love this Tarte Tarteist Highlight and Contour Palette more than I actually do. I’m not a girl who’s into highlighting and contouring, so this kit isn’t an essential to my makeup case. And I don’t plan on contouring much in the future–save for a special occasion or two. While the palette is packaged very beautifully like all Tarte products are, and smells great, I just don’t have a need for it. I do wish I got the eyeshadow palette instead, but I’m sure I’ll figure out how else to use these palette colours.
Maji Sports Loops Resistance Band
I think I picked the Maji Sports Loop Resistance Band in hopes of using it on a regular basis. It’s kind of collecting dust as I write this…Maybe not my best decision, but it’s always good to have a resistance band just in case I can exercise anytime soon.
Give A Sip Straw
With the ban on reusable straws starting across the world, it’s important to make a change with our drinking choices wherever possible. This reusable straw from GiveASip.Us was special to this package and goes with the overall theme of the box being for the Wildlife Conservation Society.

That Tarte palette looks pretty – you could potentially use it as eyeshadow if you like more neutral looks?
I was eyeing up one of those Foreo Lunas but I don’t like that they are only good for a certain number of uses – it seems so wasteful.

I’m going to experiment with using the palette for eyeshadow!
And from what I’ve read, the Foreo Luna Fofo is good for 400 uses, and then you just need to replace the battery. But I’ve heard that a few people have problems with charging the older versions of the Foreo.
