Celebrating Mother’s Day: 5 Ways To Say Thank You

If you’re alive right now, you have a mother to thank for that, so make sure you do this Mother’s Day!

Mothers are probably one of the most hard-working, underappreciated humans on this planet. Right from the when they find out they’re pregnant, they’re taking care of us. When we’re born, they’re the ones who wake up to our cries to fix our problems. And even as adults, they’re the ones that listen to our cries and help us fix our problems even if we insist we can do it on our own.

Oh Mothers. Where would we be without them and their love?

Happy Mother’s Day to the best Mum out there ??

I’ve have so many strong, wonderful women in my life. One being my Mom, the other being my older sister who has motherly intentions, and the other two being my grandma on my dad’s side, and until last year, my Nana on my mom’s side. They’ve all taught me extremely valuable things like “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all”, or “Don’t let a man push you around”, and most importantly, “Everything will happen as it needs to happen”.

As Mother’s Day is just around the corner, I thought I’d share some ideas for ways you can celebrate the mothers in your life to say thank you for all they do.

1) Cook a Meal For Your Mother

Most mothers spend endless hours cooking for us as children. And even as we grow into fully functioning adults, mothers still tend to cook for us from time to time. Show your mother that you appreciate all the meals she’s ever cooked for you by cooking a meal for her. Pick her favourite meal and make it at home. It’s a lot easier than trying to book a reservation at a restaurant!

2) Treat Your Mother To A Movie

Mothers often don’t have the time to sit back and relax, yet alone make it out to the movies. Treat your mother to a movie and some cinema snacks! There are tons of great releases around this time of year. Find a genre that she loves and pick a showtime! And make sure to buy her a few snacks—after all, she always made sure you had snacks!

What would I recommend seeing?

If you have a mom that enjoys a good comedy, I think Life of The Party with Melissa McCarthy looks like a fun time!

3) Create a Basket of Your Mother’s Favourite Beauty and Lifestyle Products

We’ve probably all watched our mothers dressing up for the day, wondering how exactly she looks as great as she always does. I’ll let you guys in on my mother’s secret to looking incredible: She takes great care of her skin. So why not treat your mother to her favorite Beauty and Lifestyle products. One of the places that has the best beauty products (in my opinion) is The Body Shop. They’re cruelty free and they have products that work for a variety of skin types and skin concerns.

4) Go Old School And Make Something For Your Mother

Even though nothing will ever be as cute as the crafts we made as children, mothers still appreciate when you make something for them. Instead of finger painting something for her, try making something she can use. A great idea is some hand-painted pottery, or better yet, take her to a pottery painting studio. If you’re living in the KW area, there’s a great place in Cambridge to go to called Play With Clay where you can paint pre-made clay pieces, or you can create pottery from scratch! Here’s a piece that I made a few months ago. And I can’t wait to take my mom there!

5) Spend Time With Your Mother Doing One Of HER Favourite Activities

How wonderful is it when someone takes an interest in things YOU like to do? Extra special, I bet! So make your mom feel extra special by doing an activity she loves to do. If she loves to garden, go outside and help her plant her garden. If she loves to shop, go with her to the mall and be her hype-woman as she tries on clothes. Whatever you choose to do, it’ll make her feel great!

Let me know down in the comments how you’ll be celebrating your mother this Mother’s Day.
